It turns out owning a bookstore is every bit as delightful as you might imagine!
My partner (and novelist) Paul Bradley Carr and I opened this delightful bookstore with our daughters in our part time home of Palm Springs in 2022.
Why? The simple reason that there was no bookstore in the entire city. We’ve been richly rewarded withlotsoflove, and we are thrilled to say it’s one of the most profitable per square foot bookstores in America, with a thriving bulk sale business behind the scenes. We also do custom adult book fairs for companies. (Why should middle schoolers get all the fun?) There is no better feeling than putting the perfect read in someone’s hand before a day at the pool.
