Me in the Midwest
Oh, hello there, readers. I am back from a three-day jaunt through the Midwest and the trip was just amazing.
"I fell in love with Omaha," I told a friend who laughed uproariously. "No," I assured her. "I'm serious." But Des Moines was certainly no slouch either. Both cities taught me so much about how the Web is changing entrepreneurship and really people's lives in unique ways. I have tons to say about it, but sadly, I haven't had a spare moment to do so. I plan to blog more heavily about my experience and impressions and post some video from the trip tomorrow while I wait on some furniture we bought two months ago to finally arrive! (FINALLY!)
For now, here are a few clips from two of the guys who brought me to the Midwest, Nathan Wright and Jeff Slobotski. Both were amazingly hospitable, and I hope I stay in touch with them for years to come. Des Moines and Omaha are very lucky to have them! (Forgive my astounding inarticulate-ness in the second video. I was incredibly sleep deprived!)

New Book
An unforgettable portrait of the emerging world's entrepreneurial dynamos Brilliant, Crazy, Cocky is the story about that top 1% of people who do more to change their worlds through greed and ambition than politicians, NGOs and nonprofits ever can. This new breed of self-starter is taking local turmoil and turning it into opportunities, making millions, creating thousands of jobs and changing the face of modern entrepreneurship at the same time. To tell this story, Lacy spent forty weeks traveling through Asia, South America and Africa hunting down the most impressive up-and-comers the developed world has never heard of....yet.

Nice meeting you in person in Dez Moinez. I think a mid-week booksigning would have had better turnout, but those there were obviously interested!
