Henry Misses Nasdaq Shoot, and Somehow I Don't Miss Him...
Just kidding, Henry. I *always* miss you. But I had way more fun with Aaron Task today than I do on our usual satellite bicoastal segments, even though I got drenched on the way to the Nasdaq this morning! Thought I'd share a few of our segments with you very, very techy folk who are too cool for Yahoo. (Does that mean I think Sarahlacy.com is cooler? I'll answer with Owen Thomas' favorite haughty expression of mine: Duh!)
Before we get to the clips, note that Yahoo has finally released some of Tech Ticker's numbers. (They've had me gagged.)
From MediaWeek:
"Category leader Yahoo Finance is also approaching CNBC-sized audiences with its recently launched Tech Ticker, a tech-stock-centric blog that produces daily, bicoastal video segments. Yahoo claims TechTicker is pulling in 150,000 to 230,000 unique viewers per day, and sometimes close to 500,000 when featuring a big, news-making guest--including, recently, Yahoo president Sue Decker."
In case you're not part of our Tech Ticker army, here's the scoop on eBay and Craigslist. The strength of Tech Ticker is the Wall Street v. Silicon Valley slugfests we get into over topics just like this. Aaron can only see a world where Craigslist eventually sells no matter what they say now, and I take Craig and Jim at their word that they don't. After all, it's not like they haven't had the chance so far. To me, that question is central to whether this is actually a fight important for eBay to pick.
And if you ACT NOW a bonus video!! While I may be better at tapping the startup pulse, Aaron absolutely outdoes me on Wall Street analysis. Here's his take on the state of the markets. (Memphis fans: Watch for my shout out to the hometown!)
