note to self: zappos drives traffic!

so my blog is young and all, but nothing has driven such volume of emails, comments and traffic so quickly as the lazy sunday post i just wrote on zappos! if blogs are supposed to provoke conversation....well done i suppose!

so first off: I'm going to buy some shoes tonight on zappos. or a handbag or something. clearly, if people feel this passionately about the site (including the ceo who responded in the comments immediately!) i need to give it another try.

second: it's clear that zappos has a brand people feel passionately about, and people keep remarking about the twitter campaign. that makes me think zappos gets web 2.0 better than i'd thought. which only makes me wonder more: why spend so much on tv advertising?? hoping to interview tony for tech ticker next time he's in SF to ask him!

third: this is clearly a company the press should be covering more. i could hardly find a recent press clip when i was doing a little research before writing my first post, but to get this much of a reaction on a sunday? people want to read about this company.

fourth: keep comments like these coming! this is the fun part of blogging as a journalist!

Sarah, it well may be that it is Tony, the CEO of Zappos and his Twitter posts that brought people to your post.

Sarah, just want to say that it is refreshing to see you following-up on your earlier post. I do not know of an online retail store that does it better than Zappos. Good on you for not doubling-down on your earlier post and taking the initiative to learn more.

I'm glad you are taking another look, the company has really impressed me with their company culture in the past few weeks. Also, I just did an interview with Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos, if you would like to hear his point of view:
