He's So British It Hurts
I had a great evening with Paul Karr (or as he spells it “Carr”) last night. He’s written a book, which is all about him Britishly mocking Web 2.0, so it should be a nice companion piece to mine if anyone is thinking ahead to bulk Christmas gifts for loved ones, clients, employees, etc. Actually, I am not sure that’s even possible because I don’t have a UK publisher and Paul doesn’t have an American one. But let’s hope that all gets sorted out before the Holidays.
Just as I was jet setting around trying to understand London and Israel, Paul was over here trying to understand Silicon Valley. It’s like an exchange student program but totally happenstance and with reporters.
Here are some bon mots I jotted down from Paul. Since this is a family blog, I cut the racier ones. This may give you an indication of his views on Americans. Or just the kind of evening it was.
“Jason Calacanis is a dick. His mother would say that. He will punch me in the face if he ever reads my book.”
“She Ra absolutely had a unicorn! It’s the Swiss Army Knife of horses!”
“Your currency is a sack of shit and I hold you personally responsible. If you have republicans for a few more years it will literally be the land of the free.”
“My lies are like sausages, you don’t want to see them made but you will wolf them up when they are done.”
“Everything I know about America I learned from the Family Guy. I watch it with Wikipedia open.”
