Brits Miss Me Horribly, Flock to SF
Did I mention a bunch of my British pals are in town? Ran into them briefly at Brian Solis' BBQ on
Sunday. Robert "British Michael Arrington" Loch was trying to look very cool is his white linen blazer and four-hide animal shoes, while the real Arrington wore jeans and a sweatshirt. A cultural difference I'd just talked about in my column! We're starting a list of the British versions of Valley people.
Robert Loch = Michael Arrington
Paul Walsh = Jason Calacanis
Paul Carr = Sarah Lacy (he's *much* prettier)
i think that's as far as we got. well let's throw in the old classic coined by the "real" Arrington:
Tariq Krim = Kevin Rose (since Netvibes is technically-based in London.)
Feel free to add in the comments. It's the slightly more sophisticated, yet more inside baseball version of that game of who would play who in a movie.

New Book
An unforgettable portrait of the emerging world's entrepreneurial dynamos Brilliant, Crazy, Cocky is the story about that top 1% of people who do more to change their worlds through greed and ambition than politicians, NGOs and nonprofits ever can. This new breed of self-starter is taking local turmoil and turning it into opportunities, making millions, creating thousands of jobs and changing the face of modern entrepreneurship at the same time. To tell this story, Lacy spent forty weeks traveling through Asia, South America and Africa hunting down the most impressive up-and-comers the developed world has never heard of....yet.
